We are looking to recruit x2 Expeditors on a permanent basis to join our Supply Chain team based at our site, National Distribution Centre in Walsall (WS2 8DQ).
The Role:
The Expeditor will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials, products, and information throughout the supply chain process and will be responsible for tracking orders, coordinating with suppliers and departments, ensuring items are delivered on time. The Expeditor will ensure that any potential delays are minimised and that customer schedules are met efficiently.
Key Tasks:
- Monitor and track orders, materials, and shipments to ensure timely delivery and avoid production delays.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any issues related to order fulfilment, product shortages, or discrepancies.
- Expedite and prioritise urgent orders or critical deliveries based on customer schedules/needs.
- Update and maintain detailed records on the status of orders, inventory levels, and delivery schedules.
- Work closely with the Sales, logistics and warehouse teams to coordinate deliveries and optimise inventory flow.
- Identify potential delays or supply chain bottlenecks and proactively resolve or escalate issues.
The Candidate:
We are seeking a service-driven individual with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills, both verbal and written. While experience in sales, expediting, logistics, or supply chain management, as well as knowledge of fastenings and procurement, would be advantageous, they are not essential as full training will be provided. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is required, and experience with stock control systems or procurement tools would be beneficial, though training will also be given.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines. Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise multiple tasks, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. Building and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external customers is a key part of this role.
