We are currently looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our busy Distribution Centre in Darlington. This position would suit a candidate from a similar background in the food industry or a manager from the warehouse and distribution sector and an appreciation of the linked transportation requirements.

As Operations Manager within our Darlington Depot, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the warehouse operation is running safely and efficiently whilst optimising our fleet of vehicles and their route plans. Maximising productivity efficiency and achieving the Depot's KPIs by leading from the front.

The successful candidate will manage the stocking, picking and distribution of goods within a warehouse environment and therefore should hold in-depth understanding of the differentials required for storage and movement of dry and frozen products and stock management principles. You will be prominent in overseeing the recruitment and development of our warehouse distribution team. Promoting strong alignment to a proactive supportive team culture, you will be focused on motivating colleagues and building sustainable ethical practices within a fast-paced environment.

Regular audits of the depot's HGV fleet to ensure that the standard of cleanliness and vehicle safety is being maintained in line with Company policy will be expected. Monitoring the loading of goods onto vehicles to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the warehouse and cold store operation.

You will be commercially aware with attention to detail. You will be resilient, a strong communicator and hold proven leadership experience of delivering set objectives. You will be flexible and have the capacity to adapt to unexpected operational adjustments when circumstances dictate.
