Company Introduction

Our client is one of China's leading automotive manufacturers and one of the fastest-growing Chinese automotive groups globally. Founded in 1997, the company has established strong capabilities in vehicle R&D, manufacturing, new energy technology, and global market expansion. Over the past few years, the company has accelerated its internationalisation strategy, moving from a traditional vehicle exporter to a global automotive group with localized operations, including sales companies, dealer networks, after-sales systems, and brand operations across multiple regions. Today, the company operates in more than 130 countries and regions, with a growing portfolio of global automotive brands covering different market segments, from mainstream SUVs to premium and new energy vehicles.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role for an experienced social media professional who combines strategic thinking with strong creative instincts and excellent platform knowledge. You will take ownership of the brand's UK organic social media presence across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook, as well as relevant emerging platforms. The role will be responsible for building a distinctive and engaging social identity, growing communities, supporting vehicle launches and campaigns, and improving social performance through continuous testing and optimisation.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable moving between strategy and execution - from developing content plans and creator briefs to writing copy, capturing social‑first content, managing agencies and analysing campaign performance. This role is based in London and requires onsite attendance five days per week, with occasional travel to shoots, launches, retailer locations and events.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the UK organic social media strategy, content pillars, channel roles and KPIs.
  • Own annual, monthly and weekly content planning across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook.
  • Lead social‑first content creation, including short‑form video, Reels, Stories, carousels, stills and live content.
  • Write and review engaging UK‑focused captions, scripts, hooks, creator briefs and calls to action.
  • Manage daily publishing, optimisation and channel maintenance across all social platforms.
  • Monitor UK trends, platform developments, competitor activity and cultural moments to identify reactive content opportunities.
  • Build and manage an active social community, monitoring comments, DMs, sentiment and potential reputational risks.
  • Identify and manage creators, influencers and brand partnerships, including briefs, deliverables, approvals and usage rights.
  • Work closely with agencies and internal teams including Brand, PR, Digital, Product, Retail, Events and Customer Care.
  • Develop social plans for product launches, campaigns, events and live activations.
  • Track and report social performance, turning data and audience insights into actionable improvements.
  • Ensure all social content meets brand, platform, UK advertising, compliance and content‑rights requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in social media, content marketing, digital marketing or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong hands‑on experience managing TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook for a recognised brand or organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of short‑form video, particularly TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
  • Demonstrated understanding of hooks, pacing, retention, storytelling and platform culture.
  • Experience developing social media strategy and translating it into structured, high‑output content calendars.
  • Excellent written English, with a strong understanding of natural UK social media tone, copywriting and cultural context.
  • Experience briefing and managing agencies, creators, designers, editors or production partners.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics, reporting and performance optimisation.
  • Experience using performance data and social listening to improve content and planning.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns, launches and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A portfolio or clear examples of social campaigns and content showing your personal contribution and measurable results.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Social‑first: You understand how people genuinely use platforms, rather than simply applying traditional brand marketing to social media.
  • Culturally curious: You stay close to changes in UK culture, entertainment, technology, sport and design.
  • Creative and commercially minded: You care about distinctive creative work but also understand traffic, leads, consideration and commercial outcomes.
  • Fast and composed: You can make sound decisions in high‑pressure environments.
  • Hands‑on: You are comfortable creating content yourself as well as managing external partners.
  • Confident with high standards: You can challenge creative work constructively and clearly explain how it can be improved.

Compensation package

The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including pension contributions, private health and dental insurance, life and critical illness coverage, employee car scheme, generous annual leave, office parking, business mileage reimbursement, and other employee perks.
