Assistant Store Manager – City of London
T.M. Lewin | New Store Opening
We\’re looking for an Assistant Store Manager to support the leadership of our City of London store as part of our expanding retail estate.
Working closely with the Store Manager, you\’ll play a key role in driving sales, leading the shop floor, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role suits someone who enjoys being hands-on, values high standards, and wants to develop their retail management career within a heritage menswear brand.
The Role
As Assistant Store Manager, you\’ll support the Store Manager across all aspects of store leadership and operations, while taking ownership of the shop floor, people supervision, and day-to-day execution. You\’ll act as a role model for service and selling, and confidently step up to lead the store when required.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People
- Support the Store Manager in leading, motivating, and developing the store team
- Act as Duty Manager and deputise in the Store Manager\’s absence
- Assist with rota planning, onboarding, training, and performance support
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
Sales & Customer Experience
- Lead by example on the shop floor, driving sales and service standards
- Coach the team to deliver personalised styling advice and strong product knowledge
- Handle customer queries and escalations professionally and efficiently
Operations & Stock Management
- Support daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Monitor stock levels, deliveries, and replenishment to maintain availability
- Assist with stock counts and loss-prevention activity
- Ensure visual merchandising reflects T.M. Lewin brand standards
Team Development & Communication
- Mentor sales colleagues and support skill development
- Communicate daily priorities, KPIs, and commercial focus clearly
- Contribute to a collaborative, performance-driven store environment
About You
- Experience in a retail supervisory or management role (fashion or premium retail preferred)
- Confident leading shifts and supervising teams independently
- Commercially aware, with experience working to sales targets and KPIs
- Strong communicator with a coaching, people-focused approach
- Passionate about customer service, quality, and brand presentation
- Flexible to work across weekdays, evenings, and weekends
Pay & Benefits
- Salary £32,000–£35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
