We are currently looking for a building surveyor to join our team working on our pub/leisure contracts. Base of work is our office in Terrington St Clement but will be required to go out surveying. Hours of work 8-5. Vehicle included.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking-off construction/design drawings in preparation for pricing schedules
  • Taking receipt of survey information and producing quotations for clients
  • Prepare and issue sub-contractor enquiries
  • Prepare and issue material enquiries
  • Prepare specifications and/or contractor proposals
  • Pure estimating using a range of resources
  • Submit company quotations to clients
  • Complete SOR’s and submit to client
  • General cost management of projects
  • Liaising with client quantity surveyors and third parties
  • Recording and advising of cost variations throughout projects
  • Produce valuations and request interim payments throughout projects
  • Produce and negotiate final accounts on project completion
  • Agree and certify sub-contractor valuations and final accounts
  • Produce quick costs for uplifting small reactive jobs
  • Liaise with contracts supervisors from quotation stage to project completion

Surveys:

  • Carry out disrepair surveys and produce site audits advising of remedial works required
  • Attend site meetings to discuss work proposals in-line with client requirements
  • Attend pre-start, project progress, and handover meetings

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience pricing works on JCT and framework contracts
  • Strong experience working with schedules of rates
  • Ability to understand the price of proposed works and submitting an SOR in-line with those costs
  • Ability to carry out property surveys, diagnose repair issues and advise on remedial works required
  • A basic knowledge of old properties (including public houses) and common repair issues such as damp and mould
  • Experience in a range of project types; reactive works, small/large refurbishments, insurance works and external refurb schemes
  • Experience in dealing with a range of project values; from £500 reactive repairs to £500k capex projects
  • Ability to prioritise quotation/tender submission in-line with client requirements

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent 9-5 Monday – Friday. Office based.

You will be responsible for coordinating works efficiently, ensuring operatives’ diaries are fully optimised, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively schedule and allocate repair works to operatives
  • Manage and optimise daily and weekly diaries
  • Prioritise emergency and urgent works appropriately
  • React quickly to changes, cancellations, and overruns
  • Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency

Communication:

  • Liaise confidently with tenants, clients, operatives, and management
  • Manage expectations in a professional and proactive manner
  • Handle challenging situations calmly and effectively

Performance & Delivery:

  • Monitor job progress and ensure works are completed within timescales
  • Identify and escape issues impacting performance

Administration:

  • Raise and manage works orders accurately
  • Maintain up-to-date records and systems
  • Produce reports as required

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a repairs planning & scheduling role
  • Strong understanding of reactive maintenance environments
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working to KPIs and deadlines
  • Experience within social housing or maintenance contracts
  • Knowledge of trades and repair processes
