T.I.S Ltd are seeking a full-time, skilled, highly motivated, enthusiastic data installation installer with outstanding, committed work ethic to join our ever-expanding team as the business continues to grow and evolve. The role includes the undertaking of various types of data cabling installation, including but not limited to Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a and Fibre Optic, commissioning of network equipment, maintenance of IT networks and telecommunication networks, Data Cabinet changes, installation of active equipment, AV installations, troubleshooting and testing. You will be responsible for the safe installation of network cabling to meet specific requirements in a variety of environments. The ideal candidate will be a competent individual with excellent manual skills and the ability to work alone or in a team. The goal is to install and maintain a well-functioning and reliable network infrastructure to ensure the operation of our customer networks. Although much of our works is within and around the Greater Manchester region, there may be a requirement to work away from home from time to time.
Responsibilities
- Installation & commissioning of various data cabling infrastructure solutions
- Perform troubleshooting of network connections and cabling to ensure long term efficiency
- Perform cable analysis testing utilising industry standard diagnostic tools for certification of installation
- Timely and accurate reporting and feedback based on daily works completed via company’s engineering app
- Always ensuring best practice is maintained and all works completed to the highest of standards
- Carrying out adds, moves and changes on customers IT Network and Telephone Network
- Installation of Wifi systems including patching the equipment and installing the active equipment within customer premises
- Work with the Project Manager to assist with completing customers documentation such as Health & Safety documents, O&M manuals, cabinet layouts & patching schedules
Requirements
- Current ECS or CSCS
- Experience with data & fibre optic installations
- Understanding of site drawings and an ability to mark them up for individual sites
- Attention to detail in all aspects of the installation including dressing of cables and areas of work if live
- Good communication skills
- Hands-on experience with common cable analysers (testers)
- Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Flexible approach to working hours
- A willingness to learn new skills and technologies
- A valid UK driving license
The following would be desirable
- IPAF, SSSTS & PASMA licenses
