Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 1 Recovery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while transporting goods across various locations. This role requires a valid commercial driving licence and experience in vehicle recovery is highly desirable. As a Recovery Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely movements of vehicles and maintaining the integrity of the vehicle.
Duties
- Operate lorries safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Collect and transport vehicles to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload vehicles, securing it properly for transport, especially for low loader deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel use, and any incidents during transport.
- Communicate effectively with the control room and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Follow company policies regarding safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Flexible to work additional hours or weekends if required.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Recovery Driver or in a similar role within the transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and best practices.
- Ability to operate lorries safely, with experience in securing loads effectively.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining delivery logs and vehicle inspections.
- Good communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively.
