About The Opportunity

Join Our Team as a Track Patroller!

Are you a highly-detailed, safety-focused individual with a strong background in rail track maintenance? We’re looking for a

Track Patroller to inspect, report on, and carry out vital work within our depots.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Track Patroller, you will be crucial in ensuring the safety and integrity of our track assets. Your core duties will include:

  • Inspecting and Reporting: Produce detailed reports for each inspection, demonstrating your strong eye for detail. You will also ensure any track gauges used are calibrated.
  • Risk Mitigation: Take the necessary action mandated by standards to reduce risk to people and property, including shutting a line when necessary.
  • Measurement and Accuracy: Accurately measure rails, switches, and crossings where required. Your reports will be assessed on the accuracy of defect reporting and the validity and accuracy of your high/medium/low priority report.
  • Stock Control & Escalation: Update stock control lists monthly and forward them to the TES Depot Manager, ensuring maintenance of stock control in depots. You will elevate identified issues in line with the TES escalation procedure and industry safety guidelines.

  • Essential Competences:
    • PTS/Track Induction
    • MSP & Track Geometry
    • COSS
    • Patrolling
    • Manual Handling, Fire Training, First Aid
    • Good Literacy & Numeracy, Small Tools
  • Please note that those with good experience, that currently do not hold Patrolling qualification, we are able to facilitate the course for you to attend.
