My client seeks a Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager who is approaching taking the APC to become RICS qualified to join them in their Birmingham office. Projects are generally of high value and there is a particular need currently for people to work on cladding remediation projects for large residential buildings along with other residential, education, healthcare and some commercial projects.

You will either be a Quantity Surveyor with an interest in project management and with a couple of years or more post graduation experience or you may be a Project Manager who has a good handle on the cost management side of projects and with a couple of years experience.

My client is a long established busy firm of multi disciplinary consultants with several offices.

You will need to have a recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying i.e. BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or Construction Project Management. You need to have experience of cost control, contract administration, procurement and tendering along with financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. You must be able to prepare cost plans, budgets and tender documentation plus procure contractors and suppliers. You should have used JCT contracts. You need to be able to do contract administration, organise meetings, take minutes etc. You will ideally be keen to do a mix of quantity surveying and project management.

You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels. My client will offer good prospects for rapid promotion for the right person. Salary is in the region of £40000 to £55000 negotiable plus benefits including pension, life assurance, interest free season ticket loan, healthcare cash plan and more.
