Overview
Transport Planner Grantham. We are seeking an additional Transport Planner to join our team based in Grantham.
About The Role
You will be responsible for planning driver loads and routes, ensuring compliance with drivers working time regulations, and managing customer deliveries in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role requires a proactive and professional approach, with strong communication skills to liaise confidently with drivers, suppliers, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule customer deliveries to meet depot booking times in the most efficient way.
- Ensure drivers have all relevant documentation and are fully briefed on delivery/collection instructions.
- Maintain and update the computerized traffic sheet accurately, with a signed-off handover for the next shift.
- Act as the main point of contact for drivers, allocating work and monitoring delivery progress or delays.
- Allocate work in line with current Operating Licence legislation.
- Respond to customer enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Maintain clear communication with internal departments and customers.
- Log returned items accurately in the system.
- Provide sickness and holiday cover within the department.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in logistics and transport planning.
- Knowledge of drivers hours and tachograph regulations.
- Strong computer literacy and confidence using planning systems.
- Excellent reliability, timekeeping, and a flexible, can-do attitude.
- Professional communication skills with the ability to manage driver and customer relationships.
Shift Pattern & Pay
- 4 on, 4 off shift pattern 06:00 to 18:00
- Β£14 per hour
- Temporary to permanent contract
