Purpose of the role

  • Day to day production
  • Undertake all aspects of production including preparation, growing and harvesting.
  • Prepare orders for dispatch accurately and to a timescale.

Duties

  • Report to nursery manager daily.
  • Operating and working on our automatic transplanter.
  • Planting and packing.
  • Keeping the work area clean and safe.
  • Other nursery work as required.
  • Growing, stock movement, loading, production and dispatch of plants.
  • General plant care watering, weeding etc.
  • Reporting any problems/concerns to supervisor/manager.
  • Ensuring H&S and hygiene is maintained across the site.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Any ad hoc jobs in the nursery as required.

Other Working Conditions

  • Working in varying weather conditions, wet, humid, cold, hot.
  • Required to lift/carry items.
  • Working hours and workloads vary according to the crop, season and the position of the employer in the supply chain, but early starts and late finishes are common.
  • Flexibility is essential at peak times, for example before bank holidays, with long hours at harvest times.
  • Working in varying weather conditions inside and outside, being able to bend, lift, push/pull trolleys etc.
  • Any other duties commensurate with your role and responsibilities.
  • We do not offer Accommodation.
  • We are NOT able to issue Visas.
