Overview
As a Structural Building Engineer with SYSTRA, you will design safe, sustainable multi-storey structures and drive delivery from concept to construction. You’ll work within a collaborative team on diverse projects, including local Australian schemes and international opportunities, applying strong design judgment and technical rigor. You will take ownership of deliverables, support junior engineers, and liaise with architects and contractors to create buildable solutions. Responsibilities
- Lead or support structural design and delivery from concept to construction input
- Prepare calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications aligned with Australian Building standards/codes
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to develop efficient, buildable solutions
- Respond to technical queries and contribute to design meetings throughout project delivery
- Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers within the team
Key requirements
- Extensive experience in structural engineering on complex building projects
- Strong understanding of structural design, materials, and relevant codes (AS3600 essential)
- Ability to manage own workload with high accountability
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Practical and safety-focused approach to engineering solutions
- Software experience in ETABS, RAPT, RAM, Strand7 or similar
