Act as a Structural Design Engineer on a variety of engineering, transportation and infrastructure design projects. Working within budgets, programmes, and quality assurance, as part of a small team, in the delivery of client projects.
Main Duties:
- Prepare outline and detailed design for multi or single disciplinary projects as required.
- Follow and check procedures throughout project delivery.
- Report updates to senior Engineers, technical leads and the project management team on project progress.
- Apply procedures and systems to ensure the safety of staff and others affected by the operations of SYSTRA throughout the design lifecycle.
- Contribute to company-wide goals and business improvement.
- Continue your own professional development with support from SYSTRA in line with your professional body.
- Any other duties as required.

Stakeholder accountabilities:
- Interaction with internal disciplines, Project Managers and Engineers for project delivery across engineering and consultancy.
- Liaising with clients, joint venture partners and external contractors as required, attending client meetings when required.
- Interface with other disciplines and 3rd parties / external Engineers to ensure a multi-disciplinary design is developed, if appropriate to project specifications.
Financial & project accountabilities:
- Manage own tasks and activities against budget costs and deliverables.
- Understanding of the wider project contract and commercial interfaces and implications.
Profile / Skills:
- Knowledge of BIM level 2, Revit, ACC, Projectwise.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant to own discipline.
- Knowledge of Robot, Etabs, IDEA Statica analysis software beneficial.
- Knowledge of design standards for example Eurocodes, British Standards, UK Building Regulations, American codes.
- Knowledge of Network Rail, UAE and KSA standards beneficial.
- Understanding of the CDM Regulations 2015, Health and Safety and Environmental legislation and how they relate to the role of Designer in the built environment.
- Professional registration with either IStructE (preferred) or ICE, having attained or be working towards Ieng.
- Ability to develop design deliverables (drawings, reports, specifications) in accordance with appropriate client and project requirements.
- Prepare and check engineering designs and calculations.
- Active in clash detection and design co-ordination.
- Liaison with construction teams to ensure designs are buildable and represent value for money in line with client expectations.
