We currently have an opportunity for a Marketing & Communications Officer to support services across all areas of marketing and communications, including administrative duties, events support, digital marketing, content creation, media relations, and internal communications. The Marketing and Communications Officer will be carrying out a variety of tasks across copywriting, graphic design, video/podcast production, social media, marketing materials creation, and website management.

Main Duties:

  • Providing Internal Communications Services: Gathering content for, designing and issuing, the weekly internal newsletters; Writing content for, and uploading it to, the intranet; Supporting the technical development of the intranet and training colleagues on managing their intranet hubs; Assisting with the creation of documents such as Word and PowerPoint templates; Responding to enquiries from colleagues.
  • Providing External Digital Marketing Activities: Producing and uploading content to the website; Supporting website development and search engine optimisation; Creating content for social media, including written and images; Assisting with the planning and delivery of podcasts and videos.
  • Events And Awards Delivery: Booking tickets and other purchases for external events and coordinating with colleagues to support their attendance; Providing content to promote SYSTRA involvement at events and developing marketing and other supporting materials for use at events, including presentations and brochures; Project managing individual events to ensure all elements are carefully planned, including attendee briefings and feedback processes, logistics of set-up and take-down, producing and ordering marketing materials; Attending events as required; Supporting the sales and bids teams in their relationship building activities, such as by seeking out and supporting speaking and other engagement opportunities; Coordinating award entries for SYSTRA’s people and projects and tracking outcomes of entries.
  • General Marketing And Communications Support: Helping to keep the marcomms planners up-to-date and coordinating team activities; Contributing to other internal and external marketing and communications activities as and when needed as part of an agile, collaborative team; Contributing to the marketing and communications team’s forward plan, championing the corporate brand, and embedding the use of creative storytelling to showcase successes across the business.
  • Undertaking Finance And Other Administration Needs For The Team: Researching potential suppliers; Setting up new suppliers and raising purchase orders on the system; Receiving invoices and liaising with the finance team to ensure payments are made in a timely manner; Monitoring spend via the budget tracker; Booking and coordinating team activities.

Profile / Skills: Skills and experience in some or all of: content creation, copywriting, graphic design, video/podcast editing. Strong organisational, administrative and time management skills are essential. Knowledge of marketing and communications best practice and latest developments, including in the use of AI and digital tools. Some experience in the fields of marketing, event management or communications. A marketing/communications/PR/event management qualification. Demonstrable commitment to the field, such as professional membership or CPD.
