We’re hiring a Senior Structural Engineer for our London office, offering you the chance to be part of something equally challenging and rewarding. Specialising in the Energy, Transport, Water and Built Environment sectors the Buildings Team is growing rapidly across the UK.
Main Duties
- Working in collaboration with our designers and contract partners, the Senior Engineer will be involved in a variety of tasks such as:
- Develop design deliverables (drawings, reports, specifications).
- Liaise with construction teams to ensure designs are buildable and represent value for money.
- Liaise with wider design team to ensure consistency and quality of deliverables across all projects.
- Implement effective, value for money and innovative design solutions to meet technical and project requirements.
- Prepare and check technical documents and reports and assist in the preparation of expressions of interest and tenders.
- Competent to supervise a team of Engineers and Technicians; competent to check and approve the work of others; competent to sign off design certificates on behalf of the company.
- Conceptual, outline and detailed design of engineering solutions, presentation of engineering options.
- Experience of construction support and resolution of site queries and disputes to successful conclusions.
- Development and delivery of work to programme, budget and specification.
- Training and development, mentoring of junior staff.
- Client and third party liaison.
- Establishment of internal design standards and/or processes to achieve a continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
- Contributing to long term technical development of the office by application of new techniques, procedures and practices.
- Develop a strong focused client relationship.
- Effective management of and response to project related correspondence.
- Assist and support the Buildings team discipline lead where required.
Skills / Knowledge
- Structural or Civil Engineering Degree.
- Professional registration with either IStructE or ICE at Chartered level.
- Significant Structural engineering design experience with large scale infrastructure exposure.
- Experience working with BIM level 2, Revit. Knowledge of Robot, Tekla, Tekla Tedds analysis software beneficial.
- Experience working with relevant design standards for example Eurocodes, British Standards, UK Building Regulations.
