We are expanding our Water teams in the UK, we have a strong forward workload delivering high profile infrastructure projects. We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our UK Water Resources team across our UK offices, by recruiting an experienced Hydrologist. Missions/Main Duties

We have an opportunity for a Hydrologist with experience of UK and/or Irish hydrological methods to join our growing Water team. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Water, Environment and Infrastructure sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic engineer to further their career in a highly motivated and inspirational environment. The Hydrologist will be accountable for the design delivery of allocated project deliverables across the water management sector including flood risk management, river engineering, rainwater management, SuDS and CSOs. As a member of our inspirational Water team you will play a key role in delivering for clients across the Water, Environment and transportation sectors.

Profile/Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Hydrology or similar, or HNC/HND in Hydrology or similar with significant experience in this field
  • Experience working in the Water Sector with a proven track record in undertaking the technical delivery of Hydrology across a range of projects.
  • Experience of applying Flood Estimation Handbook techniques
  • Experience of writing technical reports to convey complex concepts in a clear manner

Professional Memberships

Commitment to gaining Chartered Water Manager, Chartered Environmentalist, status if not already achieved.

Software

  • Essential: Advanced user of relevant hydrology and hydraulic modelling software & BIM/CAD software such as HEC-RAS, Flood Modeller, Open Roads, capable of reviewing work by others.
  • Desirable: Proficient in environmental impact assessment and regulatory compliance; Working knowledge of ProjectWise + CDE

Technical Skills

The candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of principles of Hydrology and apply these to a range of project environments. The application of hydrological software and environmental modelling (hydrological / hydraulic / water quality / water resources); Leading flood modelling inputs into flood mapping and major infrastructure projects; Completing (predominantly office-based) hydrological and flood modelling assessments, including the use of a variety of modelling software packages; Undertaking spatial analysis tasks to support data analysis and preparation of results; Presenting information to clients, stakeholders and internal management at meetings in a concise and effective manner; Authoring complex assessments and reports; Driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies and standards; In-depth understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in the Water, Environment and/or Transportation sectors.
