Position Overview
We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This position within our M&E engineering team will suit a committed and ambitious engineer who can demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to play their part in a dynamic high‑performance team.
Responsibilities
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- A self‑motivated team player able to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to build and maintain good relationships with engineers from other internal discipline teams to promote good inter‑discipline working relationships and a “One Team” ethos.
- Produce and deliver the electrical design of allocated M&E Projects as instructed by the projects Lead M&E Engineer.
- Ensure designs are completed to meet CRE/Lead Engineer requirements.
- Ensure designs are completed within agreed timescales.
- Plan the allocated design works to meet the agreed timescales.
- Identify changes to the projects client requirements and raise the changes with the CRE/Lead Engineer.
Profile and Skills
Essential
- Flexibility in working hours will be required to meet the demands of the role.
- Ability to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices will be required.
- Knowledge of electrical services design within the built environment and/or transport infrastructure including railway lineside systems (points heating, signalling power, level crossings, LV distribution) and/or lighting, small power, containment, earthing or fire alarms.
- Experience in the use of Trimble ProDesign/Electrical OM, MicroStation and/or ReLux/Dialux Design Software.
Desirable
- Able to undertake overseas assignments where required.
- Qualified to HNC or equivalent.
- Experience of working in Network Rail IP ProjectWise and/or BIM Standards.
