Responsibilities:
- Conduct a variety of field surveys, including those for bats, reptiles, great crested newts, badgers, and birds.
- Perform office‑based tasks such as data analysis, cartography, report writing, and survey planning.
- Prepare and complete Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, HMMPs, and Mitigation & Enhancement Strategies.
- Input into Habitat and Ecological mitigation designs on large infrastructure projects.
Qualifications:
- Relevant professional experience from ecological consultancy, demonstrating a broad ecological skill set and, ideally, holding protected species licences.
- Strong knowledge of current and emerging wildlife policy and legislation in the UK.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with enthusiasm for ecology and environmental issues.
- Committed to high professional standards and possessing an organised, motivated, and flexible approach to work.
- Holder of a relevant BSc and/or MSc degree, possessing a full driving licence and access to personal transport.
