We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. This position within our M&E engineering team will suit a committed and ambitious engineer who can demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to play their part in a dynamic high-performance team.

Missions / Main Duties

  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • A self‑motivated team player able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to build and maintain good relationships with engineers from other internal discipline teams to promote good inter‑discipline working relationships and a “One Team” ethos.

Duties

  • Ensuring designs are completed to meet the responsibility engineer’s requirements.
  • Ensuring designs are completed to the timescales agreed with the contractor responsible engineer.
  • Planning the allocated design works to meet the agreed timescales.
  • Identifying changes to the project’s client requirements and raising the changes with the contractor responsible engineer.

Profile / Skills

Essential

  • Flexibility in working hours to meet the demands of the role.
  • Ability to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices.
  • Knowledge of electrical services design within the built environment and/or transport infrastructure including railway lineside systems (points heating, signalling power, level crossings, LV distribution) and/or lighting, small power, containment, earthing or fire alarms.
  • Experience in the use of Trimble ProDesign/Electrical OM, Microstation and/or Relux/Dialux Design Software.

Desirable

  • Able to undertake overseas assignments where required.
  • Qualified to HNC or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in Network Rail IP ProjectWise and/or BIM Standards.
