The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy’s top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA’s decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition.
Responsibilities
SPA has an immediate need for a candidate to serve as the AUKUS Phase 3 UK Office Program Analyst Support.The AUKUS Phase 3 UK Office Program Analyst will support AUKUS Integration and Acquisition (I&A) Phase 3 personnel working at the UK MOD Abbey Wood facility in Bristol, United Kingdom.Support to AUKUS I&A personnel will include, but not be limited to: 1) planning for and executing AUKUS-related meetings and workshops with other AUKUS I&A and NAVSEA personnel and outside entities including UK MOD and defence contractor personnel, U.S. submarine shipbuilder personnel, and Australian Department of Defence and Australian defence contractor personnel; 2) submitting and processing foreign visit requests and requests for visits; 3) preparing presentation materials for briefing AUKUS flag-level personnel; 4) conducting foreign disclosure review of U.S. technical information; 5) generating task sheets for U.S. submarine shipbuilders; 6) forwarding Requests For Information (RFI) from the UK Submarine Delivery Agency.
This position is located in Bristol, United Kingdom.
There will be some opportunity to travel to partner and industry stakeholder locations.
There may be an opportunity for possible light telework.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or science/technical field
- 5+ years professional experience
- Ability to communicate task and project status to the Government clients at the O-5/6/GS-14/15 level effectively including creating verbal and written communication products
- Strong administrative, organizational, and analytical skills and the willingness to learn and build relationships with stakeholders
- Demonstrated strength in analysis and problem solving, paired with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications
- The ability to work onsite, up to full time, depending upon client needs
- Current DoD SECRET clearance with the ability to maintain it throughout employment
