We are seeking an experienced European Haulage Subcontractor Coordinator to join a dynamic, industry-leading transport business in a new role, based in Manchester. The successful candidate will develop, manage and optimise subcontracted logistics services, ensuring smooth operations and driving efficiency across the UK-wide distribution network. Strong background in Full Load movements and knowledge of a broad range of logistics/subcontractor providers are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Subcontractor Management: Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with subcontracted logistics providers, ensuring service levels are met, costs are controlled, and regulatory compliance is maintained.
  • Match capacity to shipments to meet customer expectations and ensure seamless freight execution.
  • Take ownership of strategic freight opportunities by aligning internal teams and delivering tailored capacity solutions.
  • Build a healthy portfolio of carrier capacity by sourcing, negotiating, and securing market-competitive rates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers through communication, visits, and account reviews.
  • Research and onboard new carriers by generating leads and qualifying opportunities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in carrier sales and/or transport coordination, specialising in the UK Full Load market.
  • Knowledge of managed carriers, automation tools, and recommendation systems.
  • Fluent in English and any other European language.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and business KPI management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, persuasion, and influencing abilities.
