The predicted salary is between 55350 - 67650 £ per year.

As Subcontract Manager, you’ll play a critical role in SEA’s Commercial team to manage, support and scrutinise commercial aspects of supplier contracts. You’ll negotiate sub-contracts, support make-vs-buy decisions and work with technical teams and project managers to produce and issue statements of work. This role is available at an exciting time for SEA, as we anticipate a period of growth across our Defence division. The Subcontract Manager will be based at our Bristol site. This role allows for flexible working. The salary for this role is up to 65k, depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Negotiation of sub-contracts, including appropriate customer flow down, to support project budget constraints and achieve timely performance whilst minimising programme risk and exploiting programme opportunities.
  • Monitor and manage contracts, subcontracts and service agreements to ensure that all parties adhere to the conditions.
  • Contribute to respective make-vs-buy decisions pertaining to potential sub-contracts.
  • Professionally represent the business at supplier meetings held both on site and at the supplier’s premises, identify and mitigate the commercial & compliance risks relating to respective sub-contractors.
  • Advise and guide Project Managers on performance issues relating to suppliers/sub-contractors, ensuring best practice.

The skills you need:

  • You’ll bring significant experience of subcontract management, an ability to scrutinize commercial terms and conditions and work proactively with internal and external stakeholders on all commercial matters.
  • You’ll be experienced in working within the UK MOD or defence sector environment.
  • You’ll have knowledge or experience of Earned Value Management (EVM) and performance measurement techniques.
  • You’ll bring familiarity with standard forms of contract and public sector procurement processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, stakeholder management, negotiation abilities are essential.
  • Strong IT capability, plus administration experience is key, along with a robust attention to detail.
