The Electrical Inspector provides an electrical inspection function to the Production Department. Electrical Inspector will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role does require being onsite 5 days a week. The salary for this role is up to £31k, depending on experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Inspection of sub-contracted PECs, harnesses, electrical cabinets and electrical sub-assemblies
- Inspection of internally manufactured assemblies, checking against wiring diagrams, cable schedules, drawings and parts lists
- Writing of defect reports, raising of SIMS documents and provide electrical inputs into FAIR reports
- Carry out insulation and continuity checks as required
- Inspection of termination, crimping and soldering
- To work both individually and within a team environment of multi-disciplined specialists and engineering disciplines to achieve programme results and customer deliverables in a timely and accurate manner

The skills you need
- Experienced within wiring processes
- Be conversant with Electrical/Electronic Engineering drawings and be able to understand the requirement of Cable selection
- Terminal selection
- Circuit diagram PEC layouts
- Component mount process
- Understand the polarisation/orientation of components
- Be aware of the risks around ESD and methods to reduce the risk
- Experienced within ISO9001 and or AS910 standards
