The Electrical Inspector provides an electrical inspection function to the Production Department. Electrical Inspector will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role requires being onsite 5 days a week. The salary for this role is up to £31k, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing:

  • Inspection of sub‑contracted PECs, harnesses, electrical cabinets and electrical sub‑assemblies
  • Inspection of internally manufactured assemblies, checking against wiring diagrams, cable schedules, drawings and parts lists
  • Writing of defect reports, raising of SIMS documents and providing electrical inputs into FAIR reports
  • Carry out insulation and continuity checks as required
  • Inspection of termination, crimping and soldering
  • Work both individually and within a team environment of multi‑disciplined specialists and engineering disciplines to achieve programme results and customer deliverables in a timely and accurate manner

The skills you need:

  • Experienced within wiring processes
  • Be conversant with Electrical/Electronic Engineering drawings and be able to understand the requirement of cable selection, terminal selection, circuit diagram, PEC layouts, component mount process
  • Understand the polarisation/orientation of components
  • Be aware of the risks around ESD and methods to reduce the risk
  • Experienced within ISO9001 and or AS910 standards
