Key responsibilities include:
- Operations management: Supervise daily activities such as receiving, putaway, picking, packing, and shipping to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Staff leadership: Lead, train, and motivate warehouse staff; organize shift rotas; and manage performance to achieve operational goals.
- Inventory control: Oversee stock levels and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy. Manage stock control and reconcile data with storage systems.
- Safety and compliance: Ensure adherence to all health, safety, hygiene, and security regulations and standards.
- Logistics coordination: Manage the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, coordinating with suppliers, transport companies, and clients for timely deliveries.
- Space optimisation: Strategically manage the warehouse layout to ensure efficient space utilisation.
- Reporting and budgeting: Prepare reports on warehouse activities and manage the annual budget.
