As Principal Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in leading the delivery of mechanical engineering solutions across the engineering lifecycle, ensuring that standards are met for quality, safety, performance, and reliability.
The Principal Mechanical Engineer can be based at any of our sites, Bristol, Beckington, or Barnstaple, but with regular visits to Barnstaple. This role allows for flexible working. The salary for this role is up to £62k, depending on experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Conduct mechanical engineering detailed design, analysis, tolerance studies (including GD&T) and generation of technical documentation (design specifications, test specifications etc) and manufacturing data packs (MDP) to relevant standards including BS8888.
- Regularly report into Project Management and Engineering Leadership teams to provide accurate status updates and identify risks, opportunities and dependencies as they emerge.
- Ensure clear communication and collaboration within the Mechanical Engineering project team, other engineering functions and project stakeholders, and provide technical direction and task management to junior engineers.
