The Programme Risk Manager is responsible for providing specialist risk management capability across SEA programmes, projects and bids, supporting delivery teams to identify, assess, manage and report threats and opportunities across the full lifecycle. Risk Manager will be based at either our Beckington, Bristol or Barnstaple sites. This role allows for flexible working. The salary for this role is up to £53k, depending on experience.
What you'll be doing:
- Establish and maintain robust risk management governance, including risk reviews, risk workshops, escalation routes, and decision-ready risk reporting.
- Maintain high-quality risk, opportunity, assumption, issue and dependency information, ensuring risk exposure is understood and actively managed against programme objectives, cost, schedule and OQOTOC commitments.
- Support qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, including cost and schedule risk inputs, to improve delivery confidence, contingency planning and evidence-based decision making.

The skills you need:
- Relevant P3M, project controls or risk management qualification, with formal APM accreditation such as PMQ, MoR or equivalent desirable; candidates actively working toward relevant accreditation will be considered.
- Significant experience managing risk in complex systems Programmes within the defence/engineering sectors, or similar high-assurance engineering sector.
- Practical experience facilitating risk workshops, maintaining RAIDO/risk registers, developing mitigation plans and producing decision-ready risk reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of integrated project controls, including how risk, schedule, cost, change, assumptions and dependencies interact across the programme lifecycle.
- Experience supporting bids and live delivery programmes, including risk inputs to estimates, schedules, governance reviews and management reporting.
- Competence with Microsoft Excel and project/risk management tools; experience with Microsoft Project, Power BI, ARM, @Risk, PRA, Safran or equivalent tools would be advantageous.
