This position offers exposure to Production Engineering activities across all business units and production areas at SEA. Production Engineering Technician will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role does require being onsite 5 days a week. The salary for this role is up to £32k, depending on experience.
What you'll be doing:
- Support between production, engineering and wider business areas in the triage of quality problems encountered in manufacturing
- Attend daily GEMBA meetings as appropriate
- Design and introduce jigs and fixtures to enhance and mistake proof production processes
- Maintain, organise and oversee calibration of production tooling
- Generating and maintaining standard operating instructions and associated manufacturing documentation
- Engage in production layout events and changes to increase capacity and improve efficiency
- Develop methods for movement of materials and product through the facility, establishing flow and visual output
- Presence in manufacturing to conduct time studies, identify waste and simplify processes
- Identify and support the implementation of process improvements to reduce production costs
- Participate in verification and validation activities associated with equipment and process qualification
- Support prototyping activity across new product introductions
- Developing and supporting visual controls on the shop floor
Additional:
- Contribute to DFM/DFA workshops for new products
- Assist with PFMEA and implement improvements
- Support implementation of Engineering Changes on the shop floor
- Maintain and enhance SEA's 3D printing capability specific to production jigs & fixturing
