The SEA Graduate scheme is a two-year programme starting in September 2026, designed to give you real responsibility from day one and a permanent job. It will provide you with general operational, customer, commercial and people management exposure in key areas with smaller rotations across Production, Business Development, Project Management, Supply Chain and Finance to build on your broader skills.

As an SEA Graduate you will have the opportunity to become involved in real live client projects, learning as you go and making decisions that impact our business. You will have supported training workshops and development mentoring sessions to equip you with the skills you need to progress and develop your career within SEA. As a Graduate System Engineer at SEA you will be involved in the design, development and support of our products. You will be an integral part of the design, development, design proving, test, commissioning and in-service support of the equipment as part of a multi-disciplined team. You will utilise state-of-the-art methods, technology, and tools to explore all aspects of the development lifecycle, engineering analysis, requirements analysis, design, implementation, test, build and in service support. There will be a need to interface with customers (internal and external) on many factors within the design and liaise closely with Engineers from all disciplines, Systems, Software, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the management of requirements throughout the Engineering Lifecycle.
  • Working as part of a team, taking concepts and prototypes, and developing them into Products.
  • Planning Work Packages and support the tracking and execution of them.
  • Work with engineers from all disciplines to develop design specifications and supporting documentation using a traceable system engineering methodology.
  • Support the functional and non-functional system requirement analyses.
  • Coordinate directly with internal and external customers.
  • Support the planning of and tracking the progress of engineering assignments within agreed schedules, to quality standards and budget in accordance with project and company processes.
  • Assist in the evaluation of new technology and methods.
  • Follow project and company quality control and configuration management procedures and maintain the correct records of all work undertaken.
  • Support the management, capture, analysis, traceability, configuration and of product requirements.
  • Support business development and bidding activities through technical work package definition and related resource effort estimation.
  • Coordinate and support the delivery of engineering work packages.

The skills you need:

  • Degree in Systems Engineering.
  • Familiar with systems engineering best practice.
  • Experience with electrical design and product development.
  • Experience with combat systems is desirable.
  • Competence with requirements management tools such as DOORs is preferred.
  • Competence with SYSML management tools such as EA is preferred.
  • Training will be provided where necessary.
  • Able and willing to travel occasionally within the UK and Overseas as required.
  • Currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC security clearance.
