The Production Team Leader is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient day-to-day operation of an assigned production area(s) within an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing environment. This role does require being onsite 5 days a week. The salary for this role is up to £42.8k, depending on experience.
What you'll be doing:
- Performance Monitoring: Direct daily manufacturing activities to meet or exceed SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People).
- Safety: Foster a safety-first culture and enforce safety procedures and reporting.
- Quality: Adopt quality control and compliance procedures, monitoring governance across manufacturing execution and fostering quality first culture.
- Delivery: Coordinate daily workflows, resolve bottlenecks, and manage material flow. Interfacing with materials & planning.
- Cost: Ensure production booking adherence for utilisation tracking, maintain accuracy in labour bookings to enhance standard cost monitoring.
- Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, motivate and manage performance. Ensure all team members receive the appropriate training.
- Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives within CI, Lean or Production Engineering frameworks aligned to SEA strategy.
- Governance & Process Compliance: Ensure adherence to standard work, safety regulations (GMP), and quality standards.

The skills you need:
- Previous experience leading production teams in a regulated manufacturing environment (defence, aerospace, automotive, or similar).
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 principles and controlled manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrable leadership experience managing skilled technicians/operators.
- Sound knowledge of SQDC performance management.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and product.
- Must have basic computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
- Strong communication and listening skills. Effective communicating 1:1 and in groups.
- Goal/Results oriented ability to set challenging and meaningful goals and achieve results.
