Mechanical Design Engineer (Solidworks / Fabrication) in Bristol

Producing 3D CAD models, drawings, calculations, and technical reports while collaborating with customers, suppliers, and project teams to resolve engineering challenges. Mechanical Engineer will be based at either our Beckington, Bristol or Barnstaple site. This role allows for flexible working with regular visits to our Barnstaple facility. The salary for this role is circa £40k, depending on experience. Be accountable and responsible for their performance with support from senior members of staff and their line manager Input into estimates of engineering effort and duration to deliver work packages Work with Mechanical Engineering Team Lead to support the provision of accurate progress reports and help to identify risks, opportunities and dependencies as they emerge Conduct mechanical engineering detailed design, first pass analysis (hand calculations and FEA), tolerance studies (including GD&T) and generation of manufacturing data packs (MDP) to relevant standards including BS8888 with support from more senior engineers Supporting inputs to Engineering Life Cycle reviews and peer reviews of mechanical designs in accordance with company and industry standards We provide state-of-the-art applications for naval ship and fleet protection, and undersea surveillance systems.
