Support the delivery of mechanical analysis activities within the engineering team by applying knowledge of structural, thermal, and fluid flow analysis using classical calculation methods and FEA/CFD simulation tools. This role allows for flexible working. The salary for this role is up to £54k, depending on experience.
What you'll be doing:
- Assist with engineering analyses through use of appropriate tools and techniques, to include FEA, hand calculations, technical studies, and development activities to support projects across the business and help deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Support the development of engineering capability within the Mechanical Engineering function by applying knowledge of classical calculation techniques and simulation analysis tools such as Abaqus, Ansys, or similar.

The skills you need:
- Degree qualified within a mechanical (or equivalent) engineering discipline or relevant experience
- Experience in the design, qualification, manufacture and in service support of mechanical hardware for both commercial and military environments
- Experience in the detailed and system level design of hardware
- Good understanding of mechanical analysis techniques for both classical and computational methods
- Specific knowledge of the following aspects of mechanical design and analysis: Fundamental mechanical principles and materials, Static and Dynamic Stress Analysis (linear and non-linear methods), Dynamic Stress Analysis, Thermal Analysis and fluid flow, Defense Marine and Subsea Technologies, Aerospace Dimensioning & Tolerancing, Technical Product Documentation
- Proficient in one or more of the following: Abaqus, ANSYS (FEA or CFD), COMSOL Multiphysics, Solidworks simulation suite
