adi Lean Manufacturing and Design – Design Engineer

Location – Tyburn, Birmingham

About the Role

As a Design Engineer, you will collaborate with the current engineering team to design jigs and fixtures, assembly benches, as well as semi-automated and automated production cells. Your expertise will be integral in optimising our clients\’ manufacturing processes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the lean manufacturing and design team to design machinery for the automotive, aerospace, and other industries related to the services provided by the division.
  • Designing fixtures, jigs, assembly benches, and semi-automated to fully automated machines to assist customers in their manufacturing processes.
  • Issuing manufacturing drawings and coordinating with the workshop.
  • Following up with manufacturing to ensure accurate interpretation of drawings and successful project execution.
  • Overseeing project commissioning.
  • Liaising with customers to build and maintain relationships.
  • Ensuring that all designs for projects meet company standards.

About you

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience with SolidWorks and PDM.
  • Extensive experience in a design or mechanical engineering role is essential.
  • Experience with Catia V5 in Mechanical Design is an added advantage.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to taking ownership of tasks.
  • A full UK driving license.
