Part time (32hrs per week) Hybrid working available – (60% on site) Cambridgeshire. SystemsAccountants are working with a client in Cambridgeshire to source a Sage X3 Systems Accountant to join a global finance function undergoing significant digital transformation. This role plays a key part in enhancing financial systems, improving process efficiency, and ensuring high data integrity across the organisation. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between Finance, IT, and external technology partners to ensure finance systems are optimised for current and future business needs.
Role Responsibilities
- Sage X3 System Management: Administer and maintain Sage X3, including user access, role profiles, workflows, and module configuration. Lead system upgrades, patches, and enhancement initiatives with IT and external partners. Develop User Requirements Specifications and coordinate testing activities with the IT function.
- Finance Process Optimisation: Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement using Sage X3 and other finance technologies. Support month-end and year-end processes through system configuration and reporting tools. Ensure seamless integration between Sage X3 and other business systems (e.g., CRM, payroll, procurement, Power BI).
- Reporting & Data Integrity: Develop and maintain financial dashboards and reports (including SEI tools). Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data across all modules (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Inventory). Lead the development and governance of Finance Master Data Management. Support audit requirements through system generated documentation and reporting.
- User Support & Training: Act as first-line support for finance related IT issues, coordinating resolutions with internal teams and vendors. Deliver training to finance and operational teams on Sage X3 and associated finance systems. Produce and maintain user guides, process documentation, and training materials. Build and nurture an expert user network across global finance teams.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Research emerging finance technologies and identify opportunities for investment. Work with finance leadership to build business cases for innovation and system enhancements.
Role Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
- Experience working with Sage X3 in a finance or systems focused role.
- Strong understanding of Sage X3 modules and system architecture.
- Experience collaborating with IT teams and external technology vendors.
- Experience in ERP implementations or system upgrade projects.
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as SEI or Power BI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to translate finance requirements into system configurations.
- Detail-oriented and proactive, with a focus on continuous improvement.
