Role Purpose
To oversee the operation and continuous improvement of the organisation's ERP application in line with established policies and development plans. To support organisational transformation by contributing to system configuration, process analysis, and the implementation of enhancements. The postholder will provide technical assistance across multiple modules, including Payroll, HR, Finance, Logistics, Fixed Assets, and Income Management. They will investigate and resolve issues within the Unit4 ERP system, ensuring effective and timely solutions. The role also includes proactive system development aligned with the agreed roadmap and annual development plan.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work in a dynamic environment, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Proven experience in incident management and troubleshooting is essential, alongside the ability to engage effectively with IT colleagues, service specialists, and third-party suppliers. The postholder must be able to anticipate challenges, adapt their approach to meet customer needs, and communicate technical information clearly and simply.
They will support the full lifecycle of the ERP application, from implementation to decommissioning, providing technical advice, support, and guidance to internal teams and external partners. This role also involves leading the technical implementation of new functionality, managing supplier deliverables, and facilitating technical workshops (such as requirements gathering, design, and review sessions). The postholder will analyse proposed changes, prepare release documentation in line with approved processes, and ensure all changes and releases are managed appropriately. Maintaining system availability and performance while delivering excellent customer support will be a key focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality technical ERP advice and support to senior officers, staff at all levels, schools, and external service providers, ensuring the effective use of the ERP system across business processes.
- Contribute to the preparation of business cases and project proposals related to ERP developments, collaborating with the Solutions Architect to deliver defined project outcomes.
- Design, propose, and implement innovative, efficient, and compliant solutions to address strategic priorities and statutory requirements.
- Lead the development and maintenance of interfaces between the ERP system and other applications used by partner organisations.
- Manage, coach, and support team members to ensure the effective administration and development of the ERP application in line with organisational standards, procedures, values, and behaviours.
