Finance Systems Business Analyst

Our client is a Global service organisation who is shortly commencing an implementation of Microsoft D365 Business Central. In order to support the project, they require an experienced Finance Systems Business Analyst to join their team of both internal and external SMEs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Mapping:
Conduct comprehensive process mapping sessions with end users and SMEs to document existing workflows, systems, and data flows across impacted systems. Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation within current processes, ensuring we prioritise use of out of the box Business Central functionality. Develop detailed process maps, diagrams, and flowcharts to visualize the “as-is” and “to-be” state of financial operations. - Requirements Gathering and Gap Analysis:
Collaborate with stakeholders to capture business needs and system requirements. Translate business requirements into functional specifications for the new finance system. Ensure that all requirements align with financial reporting, compliance, and audit requirements. Perform gap analysis between current processes and the desired future state. - Documentation and Stakeholder Management:
Prepare comprehensive documentation, including business process models, user stories, and system requirements. Facilitate workshops and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Support in the delivery of comprehensive training plans, materials and sessions for end-users. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the project team and wider business. Contribute to an environment of trust, transparency and respect within the team. - Data Migration:
Support in the mapping and migration of data, ensuring that processes operate effectively from entry through to reporting. Work closely with rest of the Finance Systems & Reporting team and project team to ensure alignment of data structures, consistency of access controls. Ensure processes and financial systems comply with Data Protection policies and GDPR principles.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Strong understanding of Microsoft NAV and/or Business Central.
- A Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA).
- Proven experience of leading on financial systems implementations, upgrades, integrations and data migrations in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Familiar with process mapping and analysis tools (eg Visio) and project management software (eg Jira, Azure Dev Ops, MS Projects).
- Strong end-to-end knowledge of finance processes: Record to Report (R2R), Order to Cash (O2C), and Procure to Pay (P2P).
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous in analysing and documenting processes to ensure accuracy and completeness.
