SystemsAccountants are partnering with a respected law firm to appoint a Systems Accountant who will take functional ownership of their Elite 3E Practice Management System. This is a pivotal role for someone who understands both the finance function and the technology underpinning it. The successful candidate will be the recognised authority on 3E across the firm, safeguarding data integrity, driving system optimisation post go-live, and acting as the link between Finance, IT, and external vendors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the functional owner of Elite 3E, holding documented control over core financial data structures including client and matter records, rate structures, and billing configuration.
  • Safeguard the integrity of WIP, AR, AP, and GL configuration, and own system integrations.
  • Partner with IT on access controls, and support audit and regulatory requirements including SRA Accounts Rules.
  • Run the day-to-day 3E support model, ensuring clean triage between functional and technical issues.
  • Provide second and third-line support on complex matters within Elite 3E.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, reducing manual workarounds and improving efficiency.
  • Lead the annual rate update process and strengthen reporting capability and data quality.
  • Support BI development and validation.
  • Lead functional design for system enhancements and upgrades.
  • Manage 3E releases and regression testing, and maintain a comprehensive test pack spanning core, custom, and integration scenarios.
  • Assess the system impact of wider firm initiatives and collaborate with IT on integration changes.

Role Requirements

  • At least two years of experience supporting an Elite 3E environment.
  • At least 5+ years of experience working in finance and digital systems.
  • Experience managing and leading teams.
  • Accounting qualification would be beneficial, finance knowledge and understanding essential.
  • Power BI experience also beneficial, but not required.
  • Previous legal sector industry experience required.
