Role Overview
Director in power system transformation to shape and deliver high‑impact work across the energy transition, focusing on grids, system integration and the evolving role of utilities in enabling decarbonisation. Senior leadership combining top‑tier strategy problem solving, origination and client leadership, and delivery of complex, multi‑stakeholder programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Advisory
- Lead high‑impact strategy engagements with corporates, governments and investors on energy transition topics
- Structure and solve complex, ambiguous problems and translate them into actionable recommendations
- Advise senior stakeholders (C‑suite, policymakers) on transition pathways and strategic decisions
- Systems Change & Platform Leadership
- Shape and drive system‑level interventions beyond individual projects (e.g. coalitions, market‑shaping initiatives, public‑private collaboration)
- Identify and act on structural bottlenecks to the energy transition (policy, infrastructure, market design)
- Work across sectors and stakeholders to unlock system‑wide impact beyond project‑level outcomes
- System‑Level Delivery
- Lead programmes addressing key transition challenges, including:
- Power systems and grid constraints
- Market design and regulatory frameworks
- Integration of renewables and flexibility
- Ensure delivery of high‑quality, insight‑driven outputs with real‑world impact
- Origination & Growth
- Identify, shape and win new work across the energy system

Candidate Profile
A high‑calibre, strategy‑led leader with strong energy transition expertise and the ability to operate at the intersection of strategy, policy, and real‑economy delivery.
Essential Experience
- ~10–15+ years experience in strategy consulting or similarly high‑performance environments
- Proven track record in leading strategy engagements and senior client relationships
- Experience working on energy transition topics, ideally combining advisory and real‑world implementation (e.g. utilities, system operators, infrastructure, or industry)
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders (C‑suite / government)

- Exceptional problem structuring and rigour
- Ability to move between strategy and implementation

- Commercial mindset with experience in origination and growth
