We are seeking a hands-on IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our London office. This role is responsible for supporting and evolving the core infrastructure that underpins our production systems, as well as development and research platforms.

We are looking for someone with a modern, automation-focused mindset who is comfortable operating in business-critical environments. You will play a key role not only in maintaining stability and resilience, but also in improving and modernising our infrastructure practices over time. This role combines traditional infrastructure ownership (Linux, hardware, storage) with automation, scripting, and infrastructure-as-code principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and support Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Write and maintain scripts (Bash, Python) to automate operational tasks and reduce manual processes
  • Identify opportunities to modernise and optimise infrastructure and operational processes
  • Work closely with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and internal stakeholders
  • Administer and manage NFSv4 file systems
  • Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers in a production environment
  • Contribute to Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
  • Investigate and remediate Cyber security alerts from our suite of monitoring tools
  • Contribute to infrastructure hardening and security best practices
Technical stack & tools
  • Strong hands-on experience administering RHEL in production environments
  • Experience managing on-premise physical hardware infrastructure
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)
  • Experience implementing or working with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tooling
  • Solid understanding of Disaster Recovery principles and testing
  • Proven experience administering NFSv4 file systems
  • Experience working alongside or managing Managed Service Providers (MSPs)
  • Good understanding of infrastructure security fundamentals and system hardening
  • Experience working within a financial services firm or similarly regulated environment

  • Clear communication skills and ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Educational & Professional Qualifications
  • Educated to degree (or equivalent) level or higher, preferably from a leading university.
  • A degree with some mathematical and/or computing content.
  • Professional certifications are not required but relevant training or certifications are a plus.
