Join us as our new Business Development Manager and bring world-class command-and-control (C2) and interoperability solutions to customers across Western Europe and North Africa, with a strong focus on the UK market.

The role: driving Defence business growth and strategic customer relations

You will be responsible for and drive business development and sales growth for Systematic’s SitaWare and IRIS defence solutions, with a strong focus on the UK Air and Joint market and regional reach across Western Europe and North Africa. Working closely with our VP, you will build and execute account strategies, engage senior stakeholders across governments and the Armed Forces and turn in-depth domain knowledge into tangible results.

In short, you can look forward to:

  • developing and executing business strategies and account plans to achieve sales targets across the UK Air and Joint market
  • engaging customers and key stakeholders – including UK Armed Forces at SO2 level and above – through meetings, presentations and negotiations
  • maintaining expert-level knowledge of SitaWare and IRIS to communicate their value compellingly to defence audiences
  • providing structured reporting and stakeholder updates to keep the business informed and aligned
  • feeding first-hand customer insights back into product development, directly influencing Systematic’s roadmap

The team: join our Defence Business Development organisation

You will become part of our Defence Business Development organisation, an ambitious team dedicated to making a difference for our customers and driving growth across Systematic Defence. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Business Development for the UK, Western Europe and North Africa, your primary work location will be in Farnborough, Hampshire, UK, with the possibility of working two days a week from home when office commitments allow. The role will also involve travel to customer locations across the UK, Western Europe and North Africa.

What you bring: Air and Joint expertise, defence IT knowledge and a solid UK Armed Forces network

The successful candidate will have extensive military C2 experience, either within planning, operations or intelligence, or alternatively as a Joint/Air Futures, Capability Development or Delivery officer. Cross-domain military experience with a focus on the Air domain and joint/multi-domain operations is essential given our current customer focus, alongside solid knowledge of the defence C2 market. A strong and demonstrable network within the UK Armed Forces at SO2 level or above – or possibly as a senior SO3 with C2 expertise – is also required.

Ideally, you will also bring experience in business development in the defence C2/C4I market in the region. Ex-service personnel with no prior sales experience would also be eligible to apply, provided they have extensive Air and/or Joint domain expertise. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical subject is desirable.

As an individual, you will be dynamic, self-motivated and bring innovative ideas as well as strong interpersonal skills. You will be driven, collaborative and maintain a positive attitude with both colleagues and customers. You see the bigger picture, think ahead and are seeking a long-term role where you can grow into greater responsibilities. You must speak and write fluent English.

Please note that you must be eligible to live and work in the UK and meet the requirements for a UK security check and possible additional security checks commensurate with your role.
