About System1.

System1 is The Creative Effectiveness Platform. Our target customers are the world’s largest advertisers. We predict and improve marketing effectiveness. Our advertising and idea tests measure emotion to give our customers the most accurate predictions of the business impact of creativity.

About The Role

We are looking for a talented and ambitious Product Designer to join an empowered product team and own the user experience across our flagship product suite. You will be the creative force shaping how the world’s largest brands experience System1’s Ad, Brand and Innovation products, working as a first-class member of the product trio alongside your Product Manager and Tech Lead to discover and deliver outcomes that matter to our customers and our business. This is a rare opportunity to define the design function from the inside out, lean heavily into AI-powered design, and work at the speed our market demands.

What will you be doing?

  • Partner as an equal member of the product trio (Product Manager, Product Designer, Tech Lead), sharing accountability for the outcomes your team commits to.
  • Lead continuous product discovery alongside your PM, tackling the four big product risks (value, usability, feasibility, and business viability) before we commit to building.
  • Own and elevate the end-to-end user experience across System1’s product suite (Ad, Brand and Innovation) so it becomes the most loved experience in our category.
  • Use AI-powered design tools (Claude Design, Figma AI and equivalents) to compress discovery and delivery cycles, turning ideas into testable prototypes in days, not weeks.
  • Run frequent prototype-based experiments with real customers to test value and usability before code is written.
  • Build, evolve and maintain our design system so every product feels coherent, fast to ship against, and unmistakably System1.
  • Partner on customer research, knowing how to talk to customers and turn what you hear into better product.
  • Champion the customer inside the business, bringing real customer evidence into every product decision, prioritisation call and stakeholder conversation.
  • Set the bar for design craft, speed and rigour across the company and define what “great” looks like as the function grows around you.

You need to be this kind of person:

  • A missionary, not a mercenary. You care deeply about the customer problem and the outcome, not just the deliverable.
  • Outcome-driven. You measure your success by the change you create for customers and the business, not by features shipped.
  • Speed-obsessed in discovery. You instinctively reach for the fastest path to a testable prototype, treating AI tools as an extension of your craft, not a threat to it.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and ownership. You don’t wait for a brief; you frame the problem worth solving with your trio and go.
  • Curious and a lifelong learner, with the integrity to back your point of view with evidence in front of colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
  • Able to see the bigger picture without losing attention to detail, with strong pixel craft and strategic thinking.
  • A natural collaborator, comfortable working with all departments at all seniorities, and equally able to drive work forward independently.
  • Passionate about (good!) advertising, how it works and how it can be improved or excited to become so.

You need to have the following experience:

  • Approximately 5–7 years of product design experience and readiness to operate as a first-class member of an empowered product team.
  • Strong portfolio of shipped product work that demonstrates outcomes (ideally including web applications, dashboards or data-rich interfaces).
  • Experience working as part of a product trio (or genuine equivalent) with shared accountability for outcomes alongside PM and engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with continuous product discovery, framing problems, running prototype-based experiments with real customers, and using evidence to inform what gets built.
  • Demonstrable experience using AI-powered design tools (Claude Design, Figma AI or equivalent) to ship faster and prototype at speed.
  • Hands-on experience building or significantly contributing to a design system.
  • Strong fluency in Figma and modern prototyping workflows.
  • Experience designing B2B SaaS or data-heavy products is a strong nice-to-have.
  • Experience partnering with insights, research or analytics teams to validate product decisions is a plus.

This role will require you to operate across multiple discovery and delivery threads in parallel, balancing speed with the rigour our customers expect.
