Field Sales Engineer - Specialist Hand Tools covering Scotland. You will be the technical & commercial interface between new & existing clients and the company. The role will involve early site involvement, application requirements, offering solutions and pricing, follow up to win business, and handover once completed. You will have knowledge of the Scottish engineering sector to win business by developing & maintaining a pipeline of business opportunities.

You will be expected:

  • To produce high quality, technically accurate, application analysis in support of client projects
  • To understand & be able to sell innovative solutions
  • To understand engineering market needs & translate these into areas of opportunity
  • To develop & maintain a strong client network and key client relationships
  • To attend design review meetings & provide accurate site details to assist the design process
  • To provide technical bid submissions

Experience/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Engineering qualifications
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • At least 5 years hands-on engineering experience
  • Proven track record of applying technical knowledge and a broad understanding of a wide range of industries - Oil & Gas and Petrochemical, Heavy Industries, Utilities etc.
  • The ability to accurately assess site restrictions, take & document measurements, and report findings (design engineering experience would be advantageous)
  • Good business awareness & understanding of commercial issues
  • Excellent communicator and negotiation skills with experience of dealing with customers
