You will be the technical & commercial interface between new & existing clients and the company. The role will involve:
- Working from early involvement of site/survey & application requirements
- Moving to offer of solution and pricing
- Follow up to win business & handover once completed
You will have knowledge of the Scottish engineering sector to win business by developing & maintaining a pipeline of business opportunities.
You will be expected:
- To produce high quality, technically accurate, application analysis in support of client projects
- To understand & be able to sell innovative solutions
- To understand engineering market needs & translate these into areas of opportunity
- To develop & maintain a strong client network and key client relationships
- To attend design review meetings & provide accurate site details to assist the design process
- To provide technical bid submissions
Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
- Engineering qualifications
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- At least 5 years hands-on engineering experience
- Proven track record of applying technical knowledge and a broad understanding of a wide range of industries - Oil & Gas and Petrochemical, Heavy Industries, Utilities etc.
- The ability to accurately assess site restrictions, take & document measurements, and report findings (design engineering experience would be advantageous here)
- Good business awareness & understanding of commercial issues
- Excellent communicator and negotiation skills with experience of dealing with customers
The role will suit individuals currently working as Field Sales Engineer - Specialist Hand Tools, Field Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Rep, Account Manager, Business Development Manager and be living within a commutable distance of Dundee, Falkirk, Stirling, Perth, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes or be willing to relocate.
