Your role, as a Simulator Maintenance Engineer involves the day to day running and proactive maintenance of up to four commercial Full Flight Simulators (FFS) and Fixed Based Trainers.

The Simulator Maintenance Engineer's primary role is to:

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Utilise the maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Perform secondary duties e.g. calibrations, tool inspections etc.
  • Perform pre-flight checks prior to the day's operations.
  • Perform basic visual alignments.
  • Carry out minor repairs in the workshop to include soldering and crimping.
  • Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
  • Run automatic and manual Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
  • Comply with QSL quality management system.
  • Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.
  • Be aware of Part ORA and CS-FSTD(A) regulations.

The Sim Tech role involves working a variable work pattern which may be changed at any time to meet the Company and customer needs. Currently this is a 12 hour shift on a 4 on 4 off pattern. Flexibility in the approach to working is a key requirement for this role. The role covers currently a 24 x 7 working pattern.

The following knowledge and experience is essential for this role:

  • An understanding of Electrical / Electronic systems.
  • An understanding of fault finding principles and corrective measures techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Flight Simulator systems (to include some or all of the following; Avionics, Aircraft Systems, IO, Motion, Control Loading, Visual).

The role will suit individuals currently working as Simulator Technician, Simulator Maintenance Engineer and be living within a commutable distance of Burgess Hill, Brighton, Haywards Heath, Horsham, West Sussex or be willing to relocate.
