We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a major office relocation, data centre migration, and network transformation programme. This includes the deployment of a new FX trading platform, migration of critical network infrastructure, and the relocation of services across multiple sites and data centres. The successful candidate will play a key role in the migration and implementation of Arista, Aruba, and Cisco networking technologies, alongside Layer 2 and Layer 3 telecoms migrations. You will work closely with third-party telecom providers to migrate existing circuits and services while ensuring minimal disruption to business-critical operations. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical expertise across both physical infrastructure and logical network migrations. The position will involve working within fast-paced, highly available environments and will require occasional out-of-hours support for cutovers, implementation windows, and post-migration validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, implementation, and execution of office relocation and data centre migration activities.
- Deploy and migrate network infrastructure using Arista, Aruba, and Cisco technologies.
- Perform Layer 2 and Layer 3 network migrations, ensuring service continuity and network stability.
- Coordinate with telecom providers to migrate WAN circuits, carrier services, and existing connectivity.
- Execute network cutovers, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Install, patch, and manage physical network infrastructure, including copper and fibre cabling.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, migration runbooks, and implementation plans.
- Work closely with infrastructure, telecoms, and business stakeholders across multiple locations.
- Provide out-of-hours support during critical migration and implementation phases.
Required Experience
- Proven track record delivering office relocation projects, data centre migration programmes, and network implementations supporting trading platforms or other business-critical systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Arista, Aruba, and Cisco networking technologies.
- Excellent understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including switching, routing, VLANs, trunking, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), IP addressing, interface configuration, connectivity testing and troubleshooting, and multicast networking.
- Experience delivering telecom and WAN migrations, including carrier transitions and service handovers.
- Experience working directly with telecom providers and network carriers to migrate and validate services.
- Strong practical cabling experience, including copper and fibre patching, rack installations, cable routing and management, and labelling standards.
- Physical infrastructure best practice.
Preferred Experience
- Financial services, capital markets, or trading environment experience.
- Experience supporting low-latency or business-critical platforms.
- Knowledge of multicast networking within trading environments.
- Experience with Infinera or optical transport platforms.
- Familiarity with out-of-band management solutions, console access technologies, structured migration methodologies, detailed migration runbooks, and change procedures.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Arista ACE, or equivalent industry certifications.
