Our Hedge Fund client is seeking a Business Analyst to join their London office in a permanent role.

It will require 3 / 4 days onsite in central London per week with 1 or 2 from home depending on work needs.

This role is circa £70 - 80k base salary.

The Role

Our Investment Banking / Hedge Fund client is seeking a Business Analyst to join their Technology team.

This role involves working with global teams and business stakeholders to deliver firm-wide technology solutions, with a focus on implementation, configuration, reporting, controls, and ongoing support for in-house and third-party systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Compliance team to produce regulatory reporting that supports compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Elicit requirements using a variety of techniques and translate them into clear specifications.
  • Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and provide options to the business sponsor.
  • Act as the conduit between the business sponsor and the software development team or third-party vendor.
  • Communicate proactively with business units on progress and delivery timeframes.
  • Design and document the controls required to maintain solutions.
  • Plan and design project implementation phases, including go-live and ongoing support processes.
  • Oversee and/or implement the deployment of solutions into the live environment.
  • Provide user documentation for applications and processes implemented.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or IT-related field, or equivalent work experience (essential).
  • Strong technical skills and financial product knowledge, with experience delivering solutions in line with firm-wide standards.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years' hands-on experience working with financial instruments, with comprehensive practical knowledge of CDS, IRS, fixed income, equities, equity derivatives, ETD, commodities and FX (essential).
  • Minimum of 4-5 years' hands-on experience writing complex SQL, with proven practical experience across both Oracle and SQL Server (essential).
  • Ability to work with XSLT to configure XML files and maintain mappings for incoming and outgoing feeds.
  • Experience coordinating, managing and planning releases of application changes into live trading environments.
  • Proficient in the use of AI tools to support and improve efficiency in day-to-day tasks.
  • Excellent consultative, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across management, staff, vendors and consultants.
  • Well organised and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and time-management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities and changing deadlines.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, while handling confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
