Validation Engineer and Technical Author

A leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality manufacturing equipment for the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry have an immediate requirement for a Technical Author/Validation Engineer to join them at their offices in Laindon, Essex.

Location: Laindon, Essex SS15 6AB

Salary: Circa Β£35,000 excellent benefits

As Technical Author/Validation Engineer you will be working as part of a team to support Project Managers and Engineering Technicians. Your role will initially focus on performing tests on machines within our factory using preprepared test protocols to support the verification process of the machines. This is intended to provide consistency in the testing approach from one to the next, whilst also learning how each machine operates.

Alongside the testing activities, the role will also include: –

* Reporting the outcome of tests and provide feedback to help improve the testing process
* Assisting technical personnel with the review and update of Equipment Design Specifications and Qualification Documentation
* Liaising with all departments during the equipment build process
* Preparing equipment Operator and Technical Manuals in line with relevant machinery standards and essential health and safety requirements for UKCA/CE marking, functional safety, ATEX certification

As experience of the documentation requirements and machine functionality increases, the role will expand to include additional tasks such as: –

* Preparing Qualification Documentation expected by the Pharmaceutical Industry (DQ, IQ and OQ documents)
* Preparing Equipment Design Specifications for reference by customers and internal staff
* Interpreting customer User Requirements Specifications and support documentation
* Liaising with suppliers and customers Validation departments during projects – Conducting Site Acceptance Tests at customers sites

As Technical Author /Validation Engineer you will have experience in mechanical, electrical and/or systems engineering (e.g. HNC trained engineering apprentice or engineering graduate with some previous work experience within an engineering environment) and have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Some previous testing experience would also be beneficial.

This role may involve occassional global travel.
