A leading paint manufacturer have an immediate requirement for an experienced Paint Chemist to join them at thisre offices near Manchester.

It is essential that you have a previous experience as a Paint Chemist ideally working with decorative paints.
AS Paint Chemist you be a key member of the research and development team looking at improvement, testing and troubleshooting, maintenance and evaluation of products, sourcing and testing raw materials, manufacturing procedures, test procedures, quality systems, R&D systems and documentation.
As Paint Chemist your main responsibilities will be to:
* To plan a pilot plant and scale up of products from laboratory trials through to the handover into the production facility.
* To develop new formulations and produce samples.
* To assist in the routine operation at the R&D Laboratory.
* To analyse and evaluate raw materials and competitor products.
* Investigate and formulate improvement of products and manufacturing processes and assist with their implementation.
* Investigate and formulate solutions to problems in production, laboratory and the field, make recommendations to the Technical Manager, and liaise with other staff in remedying problems.
* To develop an understanding of research, produce reports (verbal and written) to the Technical Director, and to communicate the results of research.
* To become familiar with and actively support all provisions of the Quality System appropriate to the responsibility of this position.
* Colour matching and Quality Control of colour collateral would be an advantage.
