The Company
Long-established group that manufactures and sells chemicals and chemical products globally. The Group has an annual turnover in excess of £400m and a workforce of 1000 worldwide.
The Role
As a skilled operative working in production operations, you will be responsible for producing quality products in line with the Company’s standards and procedures. This will be from raw materials through to packaging the final product in the manufacturing processes whilst maintaining a safe, clean and fully operational environment. Some material shall need to be lifted loaded and carried where heavy equipment is not practical.
Responsibilities (will include but not limited to):
- Carry out production orders, process instructions and safety instructions accurately.
- Loading manufacturing machinery with raw materials, sometimes manually.
- Operating all machinery associated with the manufacturing process, including forklifts.
- Responsible for weighing raw materials being prepared for manufacture and finished or semi-finished products when packing.
- Unloading and loading vehicles.
- Warehouse / stock control.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in the chemical industry.
- GCSE Mathematics Grade C or above.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills especially accurate measuring skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime as and when required.
The role will suit individuals currently working as Production Operative Chemicals, Manufacturing Technician, Chemical Plant Operator, Process Operator and be living within a commutable distance of Oldbury, Birmingham, West Midlands or be willing to relocate.
