Established Health and Safety Consultancy are currently looking to recruit an experienced Fire Engineer. Fire engineers design and provide advice on both new buildings and buildings undergoing refurbishment in respect to fire safety measures. Their role is to help protect life, property, and the wider environment from risk of fire and to help ensure that projects meet industry codes and legislative requirements.
In your role as a Fire Engineer you will:
- Provide high quality technical fire consultancy to clients
- Deliver Fire Strategies and Fire Safety Management Plans
- Keep abreast of current legislation, relevant national and international standards and guidelines and technical developments within the relevant field
- Respond to requests for client work and proposals
- Contribute to delivery of projects on time and to budget; manage resources in the delivery of the projects; undertake regular project reviews
- Follow all financial procedures in the delivery of projects
- Support junior members of staff in delivery of consultancy services and ensure their compliance with site safety practices where site work is undertaken
Key Skills
- Fire Engineering Degree
- Level 6 health and safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ if possible
- NEBOSH Fire certificate, degree or advanced FPA fire course
- Membership of IOSH, IFSM, IFE, IIRSM
- Experience interpreting and implementing complex safety management systems either on a global scale, or in medium/high risk industries
- Significant experience in a H&S, Fire role operating under an established Health and Safety and Fire Management System
- Extensive knowledge of UK HSF regulations and experience in practical implementation
- Operational site experience
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Positive approach to the challenges of change and see change as an opportunity
- Ability to prioritise and schedule objectives to optimise time, cost and quality
- Strives to improve performance and uses innovative methods to get there
- Excellent communication skills
- Driving licence
- Enhanced DBS as minimum will be carried out
The role will suit individuals currently working as Fire Engineer, Fire Safety Consultant, Health and Safety Consultant and be living within a commutable distance of London, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Kent, Sussex or be willing to relocate.
